Ingredients in the recipe
- Chocolate protein shake: Adds creaminess and boosts the protein content.
- Frozen cherries: Provide natural sweetness and antioxidants.
- Chocolate chunks: A delicious crunch that balances out the creamy texture.

Ingredients
- Pre-made Chocolate Protein Shake: I used Nurri which you can find on Amazon and Costco. Fairlife works great here too.
- Frozen cherries: I prefer frozen fruit because it’s cheaper, tastes just as good in ice cream, and is available all year long.
- Chocolate chunks: I used Hu chocolate gems, but any chocolate chunks will work for a nice crunchy chocolate texture!
Equipment Needed
- Ninja Creami machine
- Ninja Creami pint
- Spoon
- Measuring cups and tablespoon
Step by Step Instructions
1. Freeze protein shake in Ninja Creami pint overnight.
2. Spin on “Ice Cream”.
3. If the texture is crumbly, add 2 tablespoons of milk and re-spin until you have the consistency you want. Repeat as needed. I only needed one re-spin for this recipe.

4. Dig a hole in the middle, and add chocolate and frozen cherries and spin on “Lite Ice Cream”.
5. Again, if it’s too hard/frozen, add 2 tablespoons of milk and re-spin on “Lite Ice Cream”. I did this one more time for a really light consistency!

6. Enjoy!
Tips and Tricks
- For smoothest texture, don’t skip the re-spin with milk—this is key to achieving that perfect creamy consistency.
- If you like your ice cream super creamy, use heavy cream instead of milk for your re-spins.
- Want to add a bit more of a rich flavor? Try adding a dash of vanilla extract before the initial freeze.
- For extra crunch, toss in some chopped nuts like almonds. Chocolate covered almonds would also be awesome in this.
