11 High Protein Overnight Oats

When I want a breakfast that’s easy to prep and keeps me full for hours, high protein overnight oats are one of my favorite meal prep options. They come together in about 5 minutes, then you just store them in the fridge overnight.

I love having a few different flavors to switch between, especially when I want something a little more fun and high in protein than my usual breakfast.

Here are some of my favorite high-protein overnight oat recipes:

1. High Protein Chocolate Overnight Oats (25g of protein)

This is seriously chocolatey, especially when the little chocolate chips soften into the oats overnight. The 25g of protein comes from unflavored protein powder, and the recipe specifically recommends mixing the powder with a little milk first so you don’t end up with clumps. It’s also a great option for meal prep.

2. Chocolate Peanut Butter Overnight Oats (30g of protein)

Chocolate and peanut butter give this the same cozy combination you’d expect from a peanut butter cup, but with a creamy spoonful of oats instead. At 30g of protein, this is a good one to make the night before when you want something that feels more like a treat but will still hold you over through the morning.

3. Overnight Oats with Almond Butter (19g of protein)

The almond butter gives this recipe a rich, nutty flavor, while the chopped almonds on top add a nice little crunch. It’s a good one for weekday meal prep, but wait until you’re ready to eat it to add the almonds so they don’t soften in the fridge.

4. Nutella Overnight Oats with Protein Powder (36g of protein)

The Nutella gives these overnight oats that rich chocolate-hazelnut flavor that makes breakfast feel a little more fun. A little side note: warming the Nutella for a few seconds before mixing helps it blend into the oats more easily, and the protein powder brings the recipe up to 36g of protein.

5. Blueberry Cheesecake Overnight Oats with Pudding Mix (20g of protein)

The cheesecake pudding mix gives this a surprisingly rich, tangy flavor, and the crushed graham cracker makes it feel like you’re getting the crust too. Greek yogurt is the main protein source, making this a fun one when you want breakfast that feels a little more like dessert while still being high in protein.

6. Creamy Lemon Blueberry Overnight Oats (27g of protein)

You get a really nice blueberry flavor here, with a little lemon cutting through the creamy yogurt so it tastes fresh instead of overly sweet. Greek yogurt and a small amount of cream cheese add the protein, giving the oats a creamy, cheesecake-like flavor.

7. Strawberries and Cream Overnight Oats (31g of protein)

Mashed strawberries get mixed right into the oats, so you get little bits of strawberry in almost every bite instead of just having fruit sitting on top. Protein powder and Greek yogurt do the heavy lifting for protein, and this one is especially handy for meal prep since it takes about five minutes to put together and keeps for several days in the fridge.

8. Chocolate Overnight Oats with Dates (23g of protein)

If chocolate-covered dates is your thing, the chopped dates and chocolate chips give this one that fudgy, caramel-y flavor in every spoonful. If the oats seem extra thick the next morning, just stir in a splash of milk, this is a good one to keep ready in the fridge for a quick breakfast.

9. Chocolate Cherry Overnight Oats (20g of protein)

The tart cherries and little bits of chocolate make this taste a lot like a chocolate-covered cherry, just in overnight oats form. Greek yogurt is where most of the protein comes from, and you can use fresh cherries instead of frozen if you happen to have them around.

10. Cinnamon Overnight Oats with Dates (22g of protein)

The dates get soft overnight and bring a deep, caramel-like sweetness that works really well with the warm cinnamon. I’d give the jar a good stir before eating since the chia seeds thicken everything up quite a bit.

11. Chocolate Raspberry Overnight Oats (39g of protein)

The raspberries give this chocolate oats a bright, tart flavor that keeps the whole thing from tasting too rich. The protein comes mainly from the chocolate protein powder, and you can use frozen raspberries here too, just let them thaw a little first so they don’t make the oats watery.
